Caladium are tropical plants native to South America. They are grown for their beautiful foliage. The size of the heart-shaped leaves may vary from 6 inches to 2 feet. Colors vary from green and white, green and red, white with red blotches or green veins and some have lavender spots. They like a warm humid atmosphere with a minimum summer temperature of 75 degrees and a minimum winter temperature of 55 degrees. Caladium are easy to grow reaching their full height of 12" - 30" in one season.

Colorful, leafy Caladiums can brighten up a shady spot in the yard. Caladiums grow perfectly in a pot making them a popular patio plant. I love the giant red ones. I have gotten wonderful Caladium tubers from Happines Farms www.happinessfarms.com & Caladium World www.caladiumworld.com.

I grow them in pots under our deck. I sit in my porch swing & just inhale their essence. I usually pot extras to share with friends & relatives when they visit. Everyone falls in love with them the moment they see them. I mean these babies are huge & irresistible. It's so fun!
