Garden Bed #18
Shade House This used to be my veggie garden. I gave up on green beans & tomatoes. In 2001 Ron built me a shade house to play in. I put all my extra hostas & other stuff here. I also have fun growing gourds on it.
Hosta 'Royal Tiara' This is an oddly interesting little plant. (sport of Golden Tiara) It grows surprisingly well with its twisted gnarly leaves. I enjoy having it in my gardens. One revert to solid golden lime-green this summer. I kept it & named it "Barbara Wing" for my fun blonde aunt.
Hosta 'Invincible' Extremely shining, glossy, leaves with good substance & unique form make this rapid grower a standout specimen plant in any garden or container.
Hosta 'Christmas Pageant' This plant was a gift / bonus plant sent to me by Mike Pinterics. He is the plant's introducer / 2000. It's a great plant & Mike's generosity makes it even more special.
Hosta 'Guardian Angel' Spectacular Sport of hosta 'Blue Angel'. Misted white & green leaf center surrounded by blue-green margins. Turns green by mid-summer.
Hosta 'June'
Hosta 'June'New June now beginning to look like a mature 'June'. You'll wonder where the yellow went. Oh, no, that was a Pepsodent toothpaste slogan!
Hosta 'Barbara Wing'NR - Marlys Anderson
Several years ago a little mini hosta named 'Lucky Charms' was given to me as a bonus plant when purchasing lots of other hostas from Jim Schwartz. I do not believe Lucky Charms is a registered plant. In a couple of years a slightly larger, all yellow sport developed out of Lucky Charms. After division, the sport was so yellow (blonde), and so cute, and so sassy, and such a petite little thing, it reminded me of my aunt, Barbara Wing. So just for fun I named it in her honor and shared the plant with her. Hey, it's all about having fun!
